School Management Organisation:
Our school implements school-based management. Planning is done by professionally trained teachers with foresight and vision. School policies are student-centred. Parents and members of the Student Union play vital roles in the decision-making process.
Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee:
The Incorporated Management Committee was founded in September 2008. In addition to the school sponsoring body, the Committee comprises of members from the commercial and education sectors, parents, ex-students so as to further enhance transparency and teaching effectiveness.

Set up E-class as a communication platform. Implement electronic communications with parents and teachers. Learning and Teaching Plan
Whole-school Language Policy:
Our school places strong emphasis on English. Small group teaching is practiced throughout F.1 to F.6 to cater for learners' differences and allows greater students' participation in more interactive English lessons. We also run various activities to facilitate a wider use of English. In F.1, English is used as the medium of instruction in some subjects, mainly content-based ones, in some classes. In the rest of F.1 classes, although Chinese is used as the medium of instruction (CMI), extended learning activities in English are conducted in Maths and Science. Besides, students in CMI classes are exposed to more English through different activities in subjects like Visual Arts, Music, etc. In senior forms, English is used as the medium of instruction in Science subjects.
Learning and Teaching Strategies:
We emphasise catering for learners' differences in junior forms. Small group teaching is practised in Chinese, Maths & English, in groups of about 20. By doing so, teachers can take better care of students, whose ability and confidence in the subject will then increase. Each group has its own curriculum and teaching objectives. Different teaching methods & activities are used to assist the less able students and enhance the performance of the more able ones. We believe increased practice, greater critical analysis and more assessments in senior forms can consolidate students' knowledge, increase their creativity and fully prepare them for future challenges. A whole-school Reading Programme is run in the morning before class. One period per cycle is allocated to teach F.1 students about the reading skills. Extensive reading is also a requirement in other subjects. In order to help students enter universities, we have a series of plans. Tutorial classes of different subjects are held for F.5 and F.6 students to help them get good public examination results. The passing rates of the HKDSE were over 80% in the past few years. Every year, about 90% of our students enter universities and tertiary institutes. In recent years, many of our graduates have entered university with flying colours. For example, Ng Yiu Fai majored in Actuarial Science in the University of Hong Kong. Ng Yuk Yi got early admission to the Department of Nursing, the University of Hong Kong. Lam Siu Sze and Lo Ting Hei majored in Finance and Accounting in the University of Hong Kong, Tsang Mei Po majored in Physiotherapy in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Ye Yong Yu majored in Professional Accountancy in the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Leung Ho Chun majored in Computer Science and Engineering in the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
School-based curriculum:
1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Students must study 4 core subjects and sit for at least 2 electives in the HKDSE.
2. Curriculum highlights: We have started 'Life Education' through Buddhist values in junior forms. Through daily life examples and current issues, we hope students can put Buddhist values into practice, develop their positive moral values and attitudes towards life, and strengthen their resilience in times of adversity.
Development of the Four Key Tasks:
The four key tasks, namely reading to learn, information technology for interactive learning, project learning as well as moral and civic education, have taken root in the school with remarkable achievements. In order to foster self-directed learning and lifelong learning among students, our school puts much emphasis on Reading across the curriculum, the use of Information Technology to implement Self-directed Learning, integration and application of knowledge and skills across disciplines, and Values Education.
Life Planning Education:
Our school aims to provide students with life planning activities, which equip them with knowledge, required skills and positive attitudes for making choices in accordance with their interests, potentials, abilities as well as aspirations.
We intend to walk hand in hand with students through seminars, workshops, exhibitions and visits with the hope that junior form students will set goals and adopt appropriate learning strategies. Student Support
Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity:
In order to cater for students' diverse learning needs, the School Management Committee supports the employment of several additional teachers for small-class Chinese, English, Mathematics and Liberal Studies teaching. Teachers majoring in Psychology & Social Work are designated to care for students with needs other than academic ones. Our school has been winning the 'Caring School Award' for years.
Whole School Approach to Integrated Education:
Adopting the "Whole School Approach" to support students with Special Education Needs (SEN) together with additional resources from Education Bureau (Education Development Fund (EDF), Learning Support Grant (LSG) and Top-up fund), we are enabled to offer appropriate and diversified support services to our students enhancing their learning and development. Our school has also established a student support group with members from multi-professions such as Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), educational psychologist, speech therapist and social workers.

Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
Home-School Co-operation:
In order to maintain good communication and close relationship with parents, our school has organized a series of activities such as "Writing Family Letters", parents' seminars, workshops, interest groups", "Family picnics" and publishing a PTA newsletter, etc. All these help to promote communication among parents, teachers and students. They also help to build up a harmonious parent-child relationship and enhance students' sense of belonging to school. In addition, through activities like "Getting Close to Parents Card", "Parents' Sharing" and "Book Promotion", we help in the growth of parents and children. By setting up a network for parents, we provide a channel for parents to exchange and learn ideas on family discipline.
School Ethos:
Our students are modest, receptive to advice and well-disciplined. Class teachers have frequent communication with parents. Our counseling teams are highly effective. F.1 - F.3 students are required to stay at school for lunch with regular lunchtime activities provided. Students are welcome to join various interest groups & uniform organizations. To raise students’ aesthetic ability, F.1 students are required to take part in an arts activity (English drama, Chinese orchestra, school choir or dancing). Aesthetic Education is provided for F.4 and F.5 students. Our students visit the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the Hong Kong Dance Company and the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. We have also assigned teachers majoring in Psychology or Social Work to be responsible for Moral Education and Counseling, which proves to be highly effective.

Teacher Professional Training and Development:
To boost teaching effectiveness, we put emphasis on the implementation of "Lesson Studies". Every teacher is to join "Lesson Studies" to enhance learning & teaching and strengthen the culture of peer observation among teachers.
In recent years, our teachers have often been invited by the Education Bureau and other educational organizations to be the guest speakers in various talks to share their teaching achievements with primary and secondary school teachers.
Life-wide Learning (including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be provided through Key Learning Areas, extra-curricular activities, co-curricular activities, etc.):
There are about 30 clubs and interest groups in our school. The special ones are Uniform Groups and Campus TV. To extend learning beyond the classroom, various activities have been held e.g. Shaoguan Rural-area Life-experience Camp, Beijing-Hongkong-Macau Student Exchange Tour and Reception Program for Exchange Students, etc. We also organize study tours for students every year. Students have visited Taiwan, Shanghai, Shouzhou and overseas countries like England, Singapore and Australia, where they immersed into the language by staying with host families.

Reform of Whole-School Language Policy - As an ever-improving secondary school, we would take advantage of the fine-tuned MOI arrangements and provide students with more opportunities to use English so that they can upgrade their English standard & enter universities successfully.
Enhancing the chance of university studies locally - Last year, 92% of our Form 6 graduates were admitted to universities or tertiary institutions to further their studies. To ensure that 100% of our students can further their studies at university, "High Flyers Programme" and "Great Leap Forward Programme" were introduced. Besides, "Sum Heung Lam Scholarship", "Dharma Ambassador Scholarship" and "Great Venerable Kok Kwong Memorial Scholarship" were set up to help those who are academically able but need financial assistance to study at university.
University studies outside Hong Kong - In order to increase the chance of university studies outside Hong Kong, we have been collaborating with some of the universities in Taiwan, Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Campus, Griffith University and Queensland University of Technology, Australia. Students can further their studies in the above three universities once they have attained a certain level in the mock exam.
