The Yearbook Committee is putting together a book for all graduating students. The yearbook is a collection of photos and comments about school life, written and submitted by students. When read several years later, the yearbook will remind students of their time at secondary school.
You are a student in Class 6C at Kowloon Secondary School. The committee has asked you to complete the following yearbook entry.
1.1: ACADEMIC LIFE
Write about one subject that you enjoyed studying or found challenging.
Looking back into the past six years in Kowloon Secondary School. I have had lots of obstacles when tackling Geography. I can still recall the scenes vividly in my mind of people asking me if I learn to interpret maps in Geography lessons once they knew I took Geography as my elective. Geography, the subject I enjoyed studying most yet found it most challenging, is a course that aims to provide a holistic curriculum so that students can develop an all-rounded mindset. From the basic knowledge, like rock formations, to more sophisticated topics, like urban development, I have experienced frustration when I tried to ram the complex concepts down my throat. It was a challenging subject for me since it requires a lot of memorization. Fortunately, I had encountered nice teachers that guided me through the seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Through the years of studying Geography, I had also found a lot of fun. Geography is a subject that requires students to learn beyond the box and be down to earth, instead of solely reading and learning from the mundane textbooks. I enjoyed the field trips in Geography classes. One of the most unforgettable excursions is the one to Tai Po Industrial Estate when we were learning the topic — Industry. I believe that after many years when I forget everything I learned in Geography class, I would still reminisce about the fun we had in this course.
1.2: STUDENT LIFE
Write about what you will miss most about being a student in Class 6C.
6C is not only a class to me but also a home. I love our class — everyone is caring and willing to help each other. Throwback to the times when we were preparing for our public exams, we were always eager to lend each other a helping hand. The top-scorer of our class, Peter, could always love our sophisticated mathematic questions and our monitor, Mary would always teach us the beautiful vocabularies for writing compositions. Time flies, we are going to embark on new adventures in our lives soon. I will miss the days when we strived to perform our best in our exams and I will miss the determination that sparked in our eyes. I treasure the companion of class 6C and the peaceful ambiance of how well we get along.
The physical education lessons are also one of the scenes that I will miss. Playing dodgeball with the whole class on the school basketball court was the happiest time I had in form six. Frolicking and playing did not solely give me joy. but I was also able to stretch and unwind — I seldom had the chance to do so owing to the packed schedule of form six! The happy and carefree focus of every member of 6C is deeply rooted in my mind. Even though we may separate soon, I will miss every one of 6C, until we meet again.
